Natchaug State Forest

Hike through <a href="http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325062&depNav_GID=1650"target=new window">Natchaug State Forest</a> in Eastford, known for horse trails, fishing and riverfront picnic sites. The large stone fireplace and chimney in the forest are the remains of the birthplace of General Nathaniel Lyon, the first Union General killed in the Civil War. There is no charge for parking or camping.
