-Ashley Mallard of East Hartford, an artist with Junior Art Makers (JAM), a summer youth employment program, carries art supplies at the end of a mural painting session under the railroad bridge on Capitol Avenue in Hartford Monday afternoon. Artists from the city beautification project, part of the Our Piece of the Pie program, have spent the summer planning and painting the mural which will be officially unveiled at 11 a.m. Aug. 16, Julie Bergeron, representing JAM, said. According to their website, JAM's first mural project in 2003 was a waiting room in the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. JAM has since painted murals for the Hartford YMCA, the Boys and Girls Club, Hartford Adult Education, The Hartford Police Department and the Hartford Public Library. They are also working on a mural at Park and Main Street in Hartford.
