Peggy Lauria, Canton

 She attended a watercolor class at the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HPU41" title="Farmington Valley Art Center" href="/topic/arts-culture/farmington-valley-art-center-HPU41.topic">Farmington Valley Art Center</a>, followed by an oil class at the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100202260000" title="West Hartford" href="/topic/us/connecticut/hartford-county/west-hartford-PLGEO100100202260000.topic">West Hartford</a> Art League. Her series of six Chagall-inspired watercolors of the prophets can be seen at Holy Family Monastery in West Hartford. A graduate of the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HOE33" title="University of Hartford" href="/topic/education/colleges-universities/university-of-hartford-HOE33.topic">University of Hartford</a>, Lauria earned her degree in clinical psychology in mid-life and has a private practice in <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100202060000" title="Canton (Hartford, Connecticut)" href="/topic/us/connecticut/hartford-county/canton-%28hartford-connecticut%29-PLGEO100100202060000.topic">Canton</a>. She sees many parallels in art and psychology. Both involve rich stories and connecting people.
 Though horses are her specialty, she also has a fondness for painting cats, dogs and cows.
