She has taken art classes at the West Hartford Art League (WHAL), <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HPU41" title="Farmington Valley Art Center" href="/topic/arts-culture/farmington-valley-art-center-HPU41.topic">Farmington Valley Art Center</a>, Tunxis Community College and <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HOE11" title="Central Connecticut State University" href="/topic/education/colleges-universities/central-connecticut-state-university-HOE11.topic">Central Connecticut State University</a>. Her work has been exhibited at the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HPU23" title="New Britain Museum of American Art" href="/topic/arts-culture/new-britain-museum-of-american-art-HPU23.topic">New Britain Museum of American Art</a>'s members show, at WHAL's members shows and in ArtWalk in West Hartford Center. The cover painting of the interior of the Schoolhouse at WHAL was done in Shira Avidor's painting class, although Avidor would be startled to see its bright colors. Kennedy added the colors to emulate her favorite painter, Connie Hayes of Rockland, Maine, whose work features gloriously bold hues..
