Christine Ivers, a member of the West Hartford Art League and the Wethersfield Art League, attained a bachelor of fine arts degree in painting and two-dimensional design from Harford Art School in 1973 and found work in the advertising field for the last 40 years as a designer. After raising four daughters, Ivers returned to her passion and works in pastels and oils. Ivers has won numerous awards for her work. Most recently, she was awarded First in Pastels in the 2007 Richeson 75 Landscape Show, which accepts only 75 paintings nationally to exhibit in Wisconsin. She has been chosen as a finalist in the New York Artists Equity Association Jacob and Gwendolyn Lawrence Awards. Currently, her work can be seen at the West Hartford Art Leagues CT+5 Exhibit to be held through May 18.
