It's probably safe to say that pizza is Connecticut's most beloved food. Between its history of coal-fired pizzerias in greater New Haven and newer gourmand places experimenting with burrata, truffles and fried eggs, the Nutmeg State is home to hundreds of pizza joints firing up dozens of styles.  3. Hurricane Joaquin Projected To Miss Connecticut 

 As Connecticut prepares for a storm that continues to hammer the Bahamas, projections show Hurricane Joaquin following a path to the east of New England. The local weather in the next few days will be much less severe but still not pleasant for some.  4. Yearly Taxpayer Cost To Operate CTfastrak Jumps 75 Percent From Original Estimate

 When transit planners decided to open CTfastrak with more service than originally proposed, they also drove up the yearly cost to taxpayers — by 75 percent.

The state subsidy for the new busway is now pegged at $17.5 million for the first year of service.
