Historic Ship "Nautilus" & Submarine Force Museum
At this museum visitors can board the Nautilus, the first nuclear-powered submarine. The museum also documents the development of submarines, from David Bushnell's "Turtle," constructed in 1776, to the Navy's modern submarines. There are working periscopes, mini-subs, a 71-seat theater, gift shop and a picnic area.
In this photo, Dimitri Wallick of Ohio guides his nephew, 4 year old Gabriel Rembisz of Burlington through the hatch of the Nautilus. Wallick served on the sub from 1964-1967 and wanted to give his daughter Larrisa and her son a tour of the ship before heading home.
