The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff will give the keynote address at a leadership conference at the Mohegan Sun Convention Center in Uncasville this fall, organizers announced this week.
The chairman, U.S. Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, will speak on the first day of the Geno Auriemma UConn Leadership Conference, scheduled for Oct 22 and 23, organizers said.
Dempsey is principal military adviser to the president and previously was the Army's 37th chief of staff. He is a 1974 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and has master's degrees in English, military art and in national security studies.
The conference will feature business leaders and executives speaking in their areas of expertise.
Proceeds go to the UConn Foundation and benefit Leadership Education at the UConn School of Business.
