Dueling Demo
Identical twin sisters and artists Susan and Sandra Wakeen held a dueling demo sculpting and painting a model at the Hartford Fine Art and Framing Gallery in East Hartford Thursday evening. The Wakeen sisters talked about their techniques as they worked for a group of artists and art enthusiasts during the three-hour demonstration. The event coincides with an exhibition of their work at the gallery called "The Allure of Oil and Bronze" that will be on display through March 30. Sandra's still life paintings and Italian landscapes are featured as well as Susan's clay and soon to be released bronzes. Susan Wakeen is from Litchfield, and Sandra Wakeen lives in Somers.
