Charles Olson (December 27, 1910 - January 10, 1970)

<a href="http://www.poetryfoundation.org/bio/charles-olson">Olson</a> was a second generation Modernist poet who was a link between earlier figures such as Ezra Pound and William Carlos Williams, and later poets part of the New York School, the Black Mountain School, the Beat poets and the San Francisco Renaissance. He studied literature and American studies at Wesleyan University in Middletown.
