Goodspeed found its fella.
Broadway veteran Bill Nolte will star in Goodspeed Musical's revival; of Frank Loesser's "The Most Happy Fella"
Nolte’s Broadway credits include" La Cage aux Folles," "The Producers," "Amour," "Jane Eyre," "1776," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "The Secret Garden," "Me and My Girl" and "Cats." He previously appeared at Goodspeed in "Man of La Mancha" and "Sweeney Todd."
The production, directed by Rob Ruggiero, (Goodspeed's "Carousel," "Show Boat," "Camelot") will begin preview at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam Sept. 20 with opening night set for Oct. 9. The run continues through Dec. 1. Parker Esse choreographs.
Also featured are Mamie Parris (Broadway's "Ragtime," "110 in the Shade" and "The Drowsy Chaperone") as Rosabella. Also cast are Ann Arvia, Doug Carpenter, Natalie Hill, Kevin Vortmann, Daniel Berryman, Martín Solá and Greg Roderick.
The ensemble includes Noah Aberlin, Elizabeth Ann Berg, Victoria Castle, Christine Cornell, Seth Danner, Michael Deleget, Eloise Kropp, Danny Lindgren, John Payonk, Rachel Rhodes-Devey, Sarah Tranchina Eric Ulloa, and James Zannelli. The swings will be Matthew Amira and Sabrina Marlene.
In 1991 Goodspeed presented a revival of the show featuring a two-piano arrangement. That production went to Broadway the following year, played 229 performances and earned a Tony Award nomination for outstanding revival.
This production will feature the typical Goodspeed assemblage of musicians playing the score under the music direction of Michael O’Flaherty. Dan DeLange created the orcehstrations
