Coventry's run of seven straight Class S titles and its 76-match winning streak came to an end. The Patriots lost their first match of the season to Granby before making a run to the state semifinals where they lost to Morgan-Clinton.

Morgan coach Joe Grippo entered the Connecticut Women's Volleyball Hall of Fame after 30 seasons on the Huskies' sidelines. Morgan rewarded Grippo with an undefeated season and the 12th state title in school history.

A year after losing in the LL final last season, Cheshire returned to finish the job. The Rams were 27-0 after defeating Staples-Westport in the final. The title was the school's sixth.

RHAM-Hebron was the last of the CCC's big three to be left standing. After Farmington and RHAM both went undefeated in the regular season, each was upset by Bristol Eastern in the CCC tournament. RHAM would eventually beat Farmington in the Class L final after enacting revenge against the Lancers in the semis.
