STORY LINES OF THE SEASON
With its Class S championship over runner-up Canton, Bloomfield became the first boys program to win eight straight class titles.
Led by a collection of underclassmen and triple jump champion Xavier Charles, Windsor won its fourth straight Class L championship by 49 points and finished second at the State Open.
East Hartford had a long-awaited resurgence in the 4x100 relay, winning its first State Open title since 1994 and later the New England championship.
After losing to Ellington in the indoor season, Canton got its revenge by winning a fifth straight NCCC outdoor championship.
Capital Prep of Hartford closed the book on a four year-run that raised the profile of distance running in the city. Dhahran Velasquez capped it off with a third-place finish in the 1,600 at the New England championships.
UConn-bound senior Stephon Henry of New Britain won the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and 200 meters at the CCC West championships and Class LL championships. He won the 110 hurdles at the State Open and was third in the 300 hurdles.
Windham junior Joseph Fogarasi won the State Open pole vault at 14 feet and went 15-3 for his second straight New England title.
