I live in a condo. On the fourth floor. We don't get many wild critters roaming around our rooftop deck except for a squirrel, chimney swifts, crows, hornets, bumblebees, maybe a butterfly, or two. However, if I lived in the wilds of, say, Simsbury, I believe I'd welcome the occasional deer, beaver and bear.
OK, I can give ground on the deer. There are way too many of them and they're a hazard to cars and trucks on the highways. But beavers and bears? Come on. Why is it necessary to kill the beavers? Can't they be caught and moved like they do bears? Can they be re-trained to work for CL&P to trim trees near power lines? They're very smart animals, certainly smarter than the bozos who run the utility company.
And bears, those magnificent bears. We should feel privileged that they choose to associate with us.Copyright © 2015, CT Now
