Food is art and local chefs are artists at Real Art Ways' upcoming series "Taste," beginning May 19.
The three-event series will feature a screening of Inventing Cuisine, a celebrated collection of French culinary documentaries, followed by a tasting of plates prepared by the evening's honored local chef and a talk about their craft and inspiration. Food writer Rand Richards Cooper, contributor to the New York Times and Bon Appetit, plays host.
The first event on May 19 welcomes Sean Farrell of Firebox, and sous chefs John Sinclair and Ed Jones, who will present along with the Inventing Cuisine episode featuring Chef Pierre Gagnaire. On June 19, Millwright's executive chef/owner Tyler Anderson and chef de cuisine Jesse Powers will present the Alain Passard episode, and ON20 executive chef Jeffrey Lizotte presents the Chef Michel Bras feature on July 21.
Tickets, which are $25 for regular admission and $22 for Real Art Ways members, are available online now for advance purchase. No tickets will be sold at the door. A bundle ticket is available for all three events at $70, or $60 for members.
Doors open each evening at 6 p.m.; events begin at 6:30 p.m. Information: realartways.org.
