The Mill on the River, 989 Ellington Road, South Windsor, hosts a Spanish wine and tapas reception Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. The event, with special guest Bill Monahan of Allan S. Goodman, Inc., features traditional cuisine complemented by Spanish wines.
Food options include cold hors d'oeuvres (Spanish cheeses and charcuterie, stuffed olives, mushroom confit); a chef-attended carving station with roast pork loin and roast beef tenderloin with Cabrales; a chef-attended paella station; butlered hot hors d'oeuvres (Catalan flatbread, Serrano ham and chicken fritters, Spanish omelette, patatas bravas, garlic and olive oil shrimp skewers); a cold tapas station with gazpacho and seafood salads and various Spanish desserts. A wine station features Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Cava, Albariño and Pedro Ximenez offerings.
