Connecticut Pizza Chef Bruno DiFabio Joins 'Chopped' As Judge

World pizza champion and Connecticut pizzeria owner Bruno DiFabio has been named a judge on Food Network's "Chopped," joining Amanda Freitag and Alex Guarnaschelli on the panel.

DiFabio, whose restaurants ReNapoli in Old Greenwich and Pinocchio's in New Canaan are among 10 pizzerias he owns around the country, is also a six-time pizza champion, earning honors at Euro Disney, Mondial de la Pizza and the 2013 Pizza Expo in Las Vegas.

Several Connecticut chefs have competed on "Chopped," including Tyler Anderson of Millwright's (who was crowned champion when he served as the executive chef of Copper Beech Inn in Essex,) Bun Lai of Miya's Sushi and Fritz Knipschildt of Chocopologie.
