You may be searching for sustenance on New Year’s Day, whether you’re nursing a hangover, looking for hair of the dog or just enjoying a Thursday off from work. These restaurants have you covered for brunch on Jan. 1.

>>Tisane, Hartford: The annual “Hangover Brunch” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. features a special alacarte menu with some of the restaurant’s favorite brunch offerings. mytisane.com.

>>Max a Mia, Avon: Brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Menu highlights include uova al forno (eggs wood oven-poached in smoked prosciutto ragu); salumi Benedict, smoked trout pancake, shrimp and grits, French toast with bruleed bananas and hanger steak and eggs. Stone Hearth, 838 Whalley Ave., New Haven, hosts two brunches on New Year’s Day. The regular weekend a la carte brunch menu is available from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with eggs benedict, frittatas, stuffed French toast, sandwiches and salads. Kids under 12 eat free from the children’s brunch menu.
