Connecticut Restaurants Hosting Fundraisers For Puerto Rico

Connecticut's restaurants are pulling together to raise funds for hurricane relief in Puerto Rico. A list of events and dining opportunities:

Back East Brewery, 1296 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield, hosts a fundraiser Oct. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. For each pint of beer sold on Friday, 100 percent of sales will be donated to Direct Relief, a charity directing funds to assist hurricane recovery in Puerto Rico. The event features live music and barbecue from the Bear's Smokehouse food truck. 860-242-1793, backeastbrewing.com.

Two Roads Brewing Company, 1700 Stratford Ave., Stratford, will donate 20 percent of its Oct. 14 tasting room sales to Save the Children's Hurricane Maria Children's Relief Fund. 203-335-2010, tworoadsbrewing.com.

For the month of October, Bear's Smokehouse, Blind Pig and Chango Rosa Tacos will donate $5 for every $25 spent on restaurant gift cards. Funds will go to United for Puerto Rico. 

The Flying Monkey Grill & Bar, 20 Lindbergh Dr., Hartford, hosts a Puerto Rico relief benefit event Oct. 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. with live jazz, raffle items and more. $10 suggested donation (cash or check.) 860-726-4971, theflyingmonkeygrill.com.
