Chick-fil-A will host the grand opening of its West Hartford location at 509 New Park Ave. on Feb. 9.

The restaurant opens to the public Thursday at 6:30 a.m., but welcomes fans to get in early for the chance to earn a one-year’s supply of free Chick-fil-A food (a digital offer card loaded with 52 free meals.) The first 100 adults (18 and over, with ID) in line will be eligible. If more than 100 people are on site when the line officially forms at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, then all spots will be determined by a drawing held that morning, with those selected needing to camp out for 24 hours to secure their spot.

The First 100 event is open to guests residing in specific ZIP codes surrounding the restaurant. Eligible residency ZIP codes, and other rules and regulations, are posted on Chick-fil-A’s website.

The Atlanta-based fast-food chicken restaurant chain, with more than 2,000 stores in 46 states and Washington D.C., offers grilled and fried chicken sandwiches, nuggets, salads and sides. The West Hartford restaurant is the seventh to open in Connecticut, joining others in Brookfield, Danbury, Enfield, North Haven, Wallingford and at Mohegan Sun.

The West Hartford Chick-fil-A, operated by local franchise owner Daryl Jackson, will employ approximately 90 full- and part-time team members, according to a news release. The restaurant will offer inside seating for 126 and outdoor patio seating for 15, along with drive-through service, free WiFi and an indoor play area for kids.

Operating hours are Monday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and like all other Chick-fil-As, the West Hartford store will be closed on Sundays. 860-461-1691, chickfila.com.
