Treat yourself: Summer lobster specials at CT restaurants

Whether it's piled into a toasted hot dog roll, poached in butter or requires metal crackers and a bib, lobster is a summertime treat for seafood lovers. Check out these local lobster specials at Connecticut restaurants:

Lobster Feast at Rizzuto's Restaurant & Bar is available Tuesday nights for $25. The meal includes a first course of New England clam chowder or spinach salad; classic New England lobster bake with Maine lobster, littleneck clams, mussels poached in white wine broth with corn on the cob, baby potatoes and Andouille sausage; and fresh blueberry and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Summer Lobster Fest kicks off at Carbone's Ristorante in Hartford and Carbone's Kitchen in Bloomfield July 6. The $29 dinner includes a 1 1/4-pound steamed Maine lobster with roasted potatoes and corn on the cob, a starter of New England clam chowder or garden salad and summer berry shortcake for dessert. Lobster Mania special summer menus are now available at Tuscany Grill (120 College St., Middletown) and sister restaurant Baci Grill (134 Berlin Road, Cromwell.) Each restaurant offers hot and cold lobster rolls and lobster salad. Tuscany offers entrees of lobster scampi, “angry” lobster gnocchi, lobster risotto with spicy chorizo, clams and mussels; and surf and turf. Baci’s entree specials include lobster Mac and Jack, along with appetizers of lobster and corn cakes and lobster tacos. Menu items range from $9 to $34.
