Division West Bistro & Bar opens Sept. 14 at 36 Lasalle Road in West Hartford, offering "simple, modern and comforting" food with American, European and Asian influences.
The restaurant is a partnership between Ermal Caushi, formerly of Peppercorn's Grill in Hartford, and Jimi Brahimi, a veteran of Max Restaurant Group. Its name is a throwback to the period between 1670 and 1806, when the area was referred to as the "West Division of Hartford," according to a press release.
An opening menu features share plates ($7 to $14) with options like butternut squash ravioli, roasted cauliflower, pork belly, grilled octopus, charcuterie and local cheese.
Entrees ($15 to $34) include "chop house" selections like filet mignon and New York strip; classic comfort plates like a burger, roast half-chicken and chicken macaroni and cheese; fresh pastas and seafood dishes, including sea scallops, fennel-dusted salmon, sesame-crusted ahi tuna and whole fish of the day.
A full bar with 60 seats offers wine, cocktails and local craft beers on tap.
Division West offers just dinner service until early October, when lunch hours will be added. The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m. 860-955-9034, divisionwestbistro.com.
