Seventeen restaurants and hotels in Connecticut have earned AAA Four and Five Diamond Awards for 2015, the company announced in a press release Friday.
Five Diamond awards, AAA's highest ranking, went to the to the Mayflower Grace in Washington in the hotel category, and the Winvian in Morris (which earned top honors in both hotel and restaurant categories.)
Four Diamond-honored restaurants include Rebecca's and Thomas Henklemann in Greenwich, Octagon in Groton, Paragon at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, ON20 in Hartford and Fresh Salt at Saybrook Point Inn in Old Saybrook. The restaurants were noted for ambiance, expert service, picturesque views and innovative and high-quality food.
Four Diamond-ranked hotels in Connecticut include the Homestead Inn-Thomas Henklemann in Greenwich, Southport's Delamar Hotel, Hartford's Marriott Downtown, Grand Pequot Tower and The Fox Tower at Foxwoods Resort Casino, Saybrook Point Inn and Mohegan Sun in the hotel category. Hotels were recognized for service, stylish interior design and amenities.
According to the company, AAA inspectors visit more than 58,000 hotels and restaurants over the course of the year, allowing them to identify emerging trends in the industry. Information: aaa.com.
