Here's what to do if you encounter a giant Burmese python, such as the one recently discovered in the Everglades. First, don't panic. Second, call 1-888-IveGot1, a hotline set up by The Nature Conservancy for reporting sightings of pythons, boa constrictors, Nile monitors and other harmful non-native wildlife. The 24-hour line, available in South Florida, will go to law enforcement officers for response. The Nature Conservancy began its anti-python efforts after one found in the Florida Keys had eaten an endangered Key Largo wood rat.
