Christ the King Lutheran Church will host a Sunday worship service which will include BRUNCH as part of the worship experience! This will take place on AUGUST 28 at 9:30 in Fellowship Hall at the church on 465 Park Avenue, Windsor. The church’s pastor, Rev. Dr. Bob LaRochelle, points out that ‘ while this may seem a bit different from the ordinary ‘church service’, it is modeled on the real life experience of the early church in the years following the life of Jesus of Nazareth’.

In more modern times, this format for worship has been used by several churches in different denominations. LaRochelle noted that John Foote, Pastoral Assistant at Christ the King, traveled to Brooklyn, New York to experience ‘ Dinner Church’ at St. Lydia’s. Based on this experience and his research, Foote proposed that a meal service be offered soon at Christ the King. ‘ I am really thankful to John for advocating for and working so hard to implement what will be a tremendous opportunity! ‘

LaRochelle also exphasizes that this worship service is OPEN to all and really encourages people to consider coming. ‘ This is not limited to our church. We really want this to be a community opportunity!’
