Eight CT Towns Designated 'Bike-Friendly'

If you're looking for some "bike friendly" Connecticut spots for your pedaling pleasure, you can't do better than the eight cities and towns that have been officially designated as nice to cyclists by the League of American Bicyclists.

The national advocacy organization evaluates applications by communities for the efforts they're making in terms of bike lanes, engineering plans to make roads safer for cycling and encouraging a pro-bicycling culture.

Hartford is the latest Connecticut municipality to receive the coveted "bike friendly" designation, recognized in December 2016.

Here are the other seven cities and towns in this state that have won the approval of the League of American Bicyclists. You can find more information online at bikeleague.org/community: Farmington, Glastonbury, New Britain, New Haven, Simsbury, South Windsor and West Hartford.
