MDA Hop-a-thon

The Bright Spot in Vernon is hosting a Hop-a-thon in support of the MDA. (Kristin Callinan / May 29, 2014)

They'll be hopping, to help!

The Bright Spot Children's Playplace in Vernon is hosting a Hop-a-thon this Saturday in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  Kids who attend their Discovery Playcare class will be hopping from 10-10:30 am but the entire event takes place from 9am-1pm and is open to young children. This is their 2nd time hosting the MDA Hop-a-thon and they're hoping to raise at least five hundred dollars for children and adults battling muscle diseases.

The owner, Dawne Morison, tells me the kids who are hopping got sponsors ahead of time and The Bright Spot will donate half of all Open Play proceeds Saturday to the MDA.  The event will include all kinds of activities, inside and out, such as hopping games, crafts, story times, a raffle, even a visit from the ice cream truck!

The Bright Spot is an indoor playplace geared towards babies to kindergartners.
