CDC's New Guidelines for Managing Food Allergies in Schools

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has developed first-of-their-kind voluntary guidelines for managing food allergies at school.

According to the report, studies show that 16-18% of kids with food allergies have had a reaction from accidental ingestion of allergens at school.

The guidelines encourage administrators to organize a coordinated approach with clear leadership to develop a comprehensive plan that involves training and education of teachers regarding food allergies.
