You may not know his name, but likely have seen his artwork in many popular children's books.
Mark Teague is best known for his artwork in the "How Do Dinosaur" books. He also wrote the "Mrs. LaRue" series about a dog and has authored 18 books.
Teague visited four schools in Southwest Michigan Thursday. WSBT caught up with him reading his newest book, "The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf," to more than 150 students at EP Clarke Elementary School in St. Joseph.
"I always like humor. I like fantasy,” said Teague. “One thing l like with a classic story like this is very odd things are happening in a very deadpan way. We're just going to accept that pigs are building houses. And that kind of stuff to me – that's very funny and I like to play with that kind of thing."
Teague's visit to town was made possible by the owner of Forever Books in St. Joseph, who is a former teacher.
Teague will also be appearing at the New Buffalo Art Festival on Saturday.
