Super heroes, zombies and vampires descended on the Big Apple this weekend, as the 2010 New York Comic-Con rolled into town. The annual convention salutes the hottest trends in comic books, movies, video games and pop culture.

Stars of the CW Network's two biggest shows "Nikita" and "The Vampire Diaries" were on hand as thousands gathered at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Midtown for the three-day extravaganza.

"When they told us we were going to Comic Con, we were so excited," Vampire Diaries star Katerina Graham told PIX 11 News. "I mean I've never been to a Comic-Con in my life and I always hoped that one day I would be cool enough to be invited."

Among the weekend's highlights was a meet-and-greet with the man behind Marvel's biggest super heroes, Stan Lee.

According to organizers, the convention attracted over 77,000 people last year.
