Ay, Caramba! To celebrate its acquisition of "The Simpsons," FXX will air the longest running marathon in TV history, showing all 25 seasons of the veteran animated comedy (that's 552 episodes) plus "The Simpsons Movie" in chronological order from August 21 through September 1.
The marathon kicks off at 10 a.m. on Aug. 21 and will run 24 hours a day on FXX until 12 a.m. on Sept. 1.
In October, the cabler will also launch "Simpsons World," described as "the ultimate 'Simpsons' digital experience," allowing authenticated viewers to have on-demand access to every "Simpsons" episode through SimpsonsWorld.com and the FXNow apps on iPhone, iPad, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Android phones and tablets, Smart TVs, and additional set-top devices. Through the site, fans will be able to curate personalized playlists, share clips and explore Springfield's most memorable characters and locations.
From Sept. 2, FXX will also schedule "The Simpsons" across their lineup on weekdays and weekends, and will air themed mini-marathons of eight episodes every Sunday from 4 p.m., ahead of the show's broadcast on Fox at 8 p.m.
