BIRTHDAY GUY: Actor Maxwell Caulfield was born in London, England, on this date in 1959. This birthday guy has appeared in such films as "Dazzle," "Gettysburg" and "Grease 2." In the '80s, Caulfield played the role of Miles Colby both on "Dynasty" and the spin-off, "The Colbys." More recently, he's guest-starred on episodes of "NCIS" and "Modern Family." Caulfield has been married to actress Juliet Mills since 1980 and is the brother-in-law of actress Hayley Mills.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): Friends may encourage you to take short trips or participate in community activities. Accept invitations and enjoy friendly company whenever you can, but keep your spending to a minimum.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Remain in your comfort zone. A boss or other authority figure might leave you in the dark or give you vague instructions. Rather than going ahead with something that's unclear, ask for clarification.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Rub shoulders with others. Participating in a club, group, or organization activity could earn you a gold star. A decision made under today's celestial conditions might not turn out quite as expected.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): Your assessment of investments, as well as people, may be slightly out of kilter. Don't dive into a new relationship headfirst. You will be more satisfied with a new contact if you test the waters first.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): Consider all sides. You may imagine that everyone else feels the same way that you do about an issue, or that others share your views, but your viewpoint may be clouded.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Simplicity is not necessarily better. Information may be so highly simplified to make it understandable that essential facts are lost. Guard against misunderstandings with loved ones.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Maintain your balance, even when surprises or emergencies keep you on your toes. Avoid getting involved in a skirmish with a co-worker or acquaintance when leaving well enough will suffice.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Words of more than one syllable are allowed. You might need to explain things in simple terms to someone who's misinformed. Remain respectful toward others, but don't be afraid to shine with intelligence.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): The worst that can happen isn't as bad as you think. Don't let your imagination or concerns get the best of you. Be poised to roll with the punches if a few minor upsets change your plans.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Consider every stumbling block an opportunity. Hold up your end of the bargain and others will do likewise, even though you may have reservations. Remain friendly with people who support your interests.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Reservations or fears may hold you back, but caution is advised. It might be wise to remain circumspect and avoid making any major commitments or promises. You could be hoodwinked.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Show the world you've got what it takes. Avoid a tendency to gloss over unpleasant facts or evade direct questions. You may have more than one romantic option, but be careful not to confuse them.

IF NOVEMBER 23 IS YOUR BIRTHDAY: Between now and mid-January, you may develop a more ambitious attitude. Be prepared to buckle down to a determined and concentrated effort, especially where your career and financial condition is concerned. This is a great time to make financial decisions, but you're more gullible or slightly distracted by the pull of romantic yearnings. From January through mid-February, groups, organizations and community functions can be of importance. Because you shine as a friend to many, those friends will be delighted to be helpful when needed. Wait until July to make personal decisions or launch major initiatives because if you need assistance or added support a benevolent force will appear to provide just what you need.
