Brillstein Entertainment Partners has recruited TV vet Robin Schwartz as prexy of its television unit. Shingle has also set a first-look pact with ABC Studios.
Schwartz succeeds JoAnn Alfano, who has headed Brillstein's TV development and production arm for the past two years. Alfano will shift her focus to serving as an exec producer on Brillstein's upcoming ABC drama "Resurrection."
"Robin Schwartz is a terrific executive and her broad experience and talent relationships make her an excellent choice to lead and build our television group," Liebman said. "We are happy for JoAnn, who is a great friend, and we are looking forward to working with her in the next chapter of her career."
Schwartz, who starts her new gig on Monday, has a varied background as a programming and development exec. She most recently served as a founding prexy of Oprah Winfrey's OWN cabler. She previously headed Regency TV, and held exec posts at ABC Family and NBC.
"The biggest priority for me in setting my next move was to work with good people," Schwartz said. "I'm lucky to be getting this opportunity."
News of the deal was first reported by Deadline.
