On June 25, Activision will be releasing their newest Marvel based game, "Deadpool." Developed by High Moon Studios, "Deadpool" has been in the works for two years and is looking quite good. If you haven't read any of the "Deadpool" comics you have been missing out! Deadpool is an "anti-superhero" missionary with a joker personality. Unfortunately, this title will have no involvement with any of the comic books, although this shouldn't be a negative aspect at all.

In the game, you are Deadpool himself in 3rd person, although he does look at the camera and refer to you as "the player," which is a pretty cool breaking-the-fourth-wall feature. The plot of the game has to do with Deadpool taking over High Moon Studios and creating a game based on himself, in which he runs around killing baddies such as Mister Sinister and his henchman.

According to interviews with the developers, High Moon is really trying to capture Deadpool's personality, with corny, quirky and occasionally clever lines. "Deadpool" is definitely not a game to be taken seriously, because the game itself is not serious at all. With jokes and silly phrases placed here and there it's really supposed to be a fun experience, and gives the player his fun while also giving them the violence fix that every fighting/shooting platform player needs.

Overall, the game does look worth the money and time. If High Moon captures the personality of Deadpool and has a decent story line to follow along with I think that it will be a great title. Although, it does look a lot like all the other superhero games made by Activision, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it kind of gets old after a while. Hopefully, I am wrong and they throw something different into the game. They should be able to do something fun with this since Deadpool hasn't had a game of his own.

So, be sure to pick a copy for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, or PC. The play style is not very in depth, and what I mean by that is it's more of a button mashing auto target system. Even though there is this, players are still given an arsenal of ways to kill enemies. This can be done with fist, staffs, blades, swords, guns, and more guns! Stealth missions have been shown in trailers, but the stealth kills are not very "stealthy," but it's Deadpool so it doesn't matter. The game has the typical combo system, kill some people in a certain amount enough time to get a boost to kill them faster. The game doesn't have the best graphics I have ever seen, but I do like the cartoon type look of it.
