In light of the devastation caused by storms in Oklahoma, CBS has hastily pulled tonight's season finale of "Mike and Molly" because the storyline deals with a tornado descending on Chicago.
CBS confirmed Monday afternoon that it would pre-empt the episode, dubbed "Windy City," which is the sitcom's third season finale and ends with the titular characters confessing "important" news to each other. A repeat of the show will air instead.
Local TV stations on Monday carried dramatic footage of destruction caused on Monday by what CBS News described as "massive, mile-wide tornado" that tore through the town of Moore, Okla.
"Due to the tragic events this afternoon in Oklahoma, we are pre-empting tonight's season finale of 'Mike & Molly,' which has a related storyline," CBS said in a statement. "A repeat broadcast of 'Mike & Molly' will run in the time period. The season finale will be broadcast at an appropriate date."
