Michelle Williams and Joel Edgerton will star in the indie remake of Italian thriller "The Double Hour," with  "Maria Full of Grace" helmer Joshua Marston directing from his own script.

The project was announced on the opening day of Cannes. Silver Reel Entertainment and Lotus Entertainment have partnered to finance and sell at the market.

UTA Independent Film Group and CAA are co-repping domestic rights.

Indigo Films’ Nicola Giuliano, Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Journeyman Pictures’ Paul Mezey are producing. Giuliano also produced Giuseppe Capotondi’s original film, which premiered in competition at the 2009 Venice International Film Festival.

"The Double Hour" centers on two lovers who find themselves victims in the midst of a dangerous and well planned robbery.

Exec producers are Silver Reel’s Claudia Blumhuber, Lotus Entertainment’s Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel, Giulio Marantonio, John Powers Middleton, Jacob Pechenik and Florian Darge.

Marston is represented by WME and Anonymous Content, Williams by CAA, Edgerton by CAA and Shanahan Mgmt., and producers Lee and Giuliano by UTA.
