Taco Bell Announces Cool Ranch Dorito Tacos

Taco Bell announced the official release of its new Cool Ranch Dorito tacos, coming to stores March 7. Following in the footsteps of its successful Doritos Locos Tacos, the Cool Ranch version features a shell made from the zesty-spicy Frito Lay tortilla chip.

Inside the shell: ground seasoned beef, shredded lettuce and cheddar cheese. A "supreme" version has sour cream and diced tomatoes, for an upcharge. Taco Bell made the announcement Wednesday with a six-second Vine video, displaying the new menu item next to the recognizable blue snack bag.

"There has been enormous interest in the new Cool Ranch flavor of Doritos Locos Tacos and people are wondering why it took so long,” said Greg Creed, chief executive officer of Taco Bell Corp, in a news release. "Originally we had planned to launch the Cool Ranch flavor in the same year as the introduction of Doritos Locos Tacos. However, the demand for Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos was so strong that we worked closely with our partner Frito-Lay to increase our capacity and meet the needs of both Doritos Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese fans."

The taco has a suggested price of $1.39; $1.69 for a supreme. Information: tacobell.com.
