SHRINE Asian Kitchen at Foxwoods has gotten a Beantown-style makeover. Big Night Entertainment Group, owner of the property at the Mashantucket casino, has revamped the restaurant in the style of its Boston-based Red Lantern Restaurant & Lounge.
Red Lantern will take over the upstairs dining space, and Shrine's downstairs nightclub will remain intact, the company said in a news release. The new restaurant's decor and menu is modeled after the group's 9,000-square foot Asian-inspired restaurant and lounge on Stanhope Street, at the intersection of the South End and Back Bay. (Big Night Entertainment also owns and operates The Scorpion Bar and High Rollers Luxury Lanes and Lounge at the casino.)
The Foxwoods location holds 225 guests, with an open kitchen, sushi counter and lounge area. Executive chef Kevin Long, a Big Night Entertainment partner, will lead a team of chefs to produce a menu of wood-grilled and wok-fired items, sushi and noodles, along with tiki drinks, signature cocktails, beers, wines and sakes.
The Red Lantern kitchen will be open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Lounge hours will run from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
SHRINE Nightclub will now be open from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, and 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The food menu will only be available in the lounge on Friday and Saturday.
