New England Brewing Company Beer Dinner at Max's Oyster Bar April 25

Max's Oyster Bar, 964 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, hosts a New England Brewing Company beer dinner on April 25 at 6:30 p.m. Five courses are paired with selections from the Woodbridge brewery.

The menu:

Reception: "Ode to the Elm City" with Elm City Pilsner in cans, "Yankee Doodle Dandy" steak dogs, burger sliders on toast, white clam pie

First course: Lemongrass-cured Stonington fluke with Fresno chiles, coriander, grapefruit, pine nuts (Sea Hag IPA)

Second course: Duck egg and confit frittata with duck bacon and foie gras disco fries (Scrumtrulescent Farmhouse Saison)

Third course: Pork and clams with harissa and butter beans (Wet Willy Scotch Ale)

Fourth course: Ras-el-hanout crusted leg of lamb with cashew "yogurt" and cauliflower (Gandhi Bot Double IPA)

Dessert: Roasted banana bread pudding with salted caramel gelato, dark chocolate and macadamia nut bark (Friar's Quad)

Cost is $65 a person, plus tax and gratuity.

The restaurant also hosts a New England Brewing "tap takeover" that night in the bar, featuring a cask-aged barrel of the brewery's 668: Neighbor of the Beast beer infused with mesquite.
