A La Carte

Market Grille has opened in Manchester, on Buckland Hills Drive in the former Hops building. The restaurant is the fifth eatery for the Mill Restaurant Group, and its second new opening of 2012, after the debut of Republic in Bloomfield this summer.
Market Grille describes itself as "American food and drink done right," with upscale, locally-sourced fare. The full, varied menu features cheese and charcuterie (including Cato Corner Farm of Colchester,) assorted salads, a raw bar with New England oysters and small plates: soups and chowders, veal meatballs, crab cakes, crostini, pumpkin and feta quesadillas, chicken drumsticks and a Chicago-style wurst "trio" with mustard, sauerkraut and potato pancakes.
Entrees are separated into "from the sea" and "from the land," with seared scallops, grilled fish, jambalaya, steaks, chops, spare ribs and duck breast. A sandwich menu features several burgers, including a Bacon Brioche with triple creme cheese and balsamic-roasted onions and a pork "schnitzelwich" on an English muffin bun. "Noodles and pasta" include a three-meat ragout, three-cheese macaroni and a spicy Asian pasta dish with chicken and vegetables.
The dessert menu carries J. Foster's ice creams and sorbets, and the cocktail menu highlights a cosmopolitan with blackberry-infused Onyx Moonshine (of Manchester,) along with Hosmer Mountain sodas.
Market Grille is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant is at 110 Buckland Hills Drive. 860-644-1011, marketgrillct.com. Visit Market Grille's Facebook page for the latest news and updates.
