Guilford's The Place Featured On Cooking Channel's "Man Fire Food"

The Place in Guilford, a summertime destination for grilled clams and lobsters, will be featured on the Cooking Channel's "Man Fire Food" Tuesday at 10 p.m.

"Man Fire Food" features the inventive ways Americans cook with fire. The show's host, Canadian chef Roger Mooking, also hosts Cooking Channel's "Everyday Exotic" and Food Network's "Heat Seekers" (with Aaron Sanchez.)

The Place co-owners Vaughn and Gary Knowles will appear on the episode, according to a news release. The  brothers have run the rustic open-air clambake on Boston Post Road since the early 1970s.

The episode will also air Nov. 21 at 2 a.m.; Dec. 9 at 9:30 p.m., Dec. 10 at 1:30 a.m. and Dec. 16 at 2 p.m.
