Fourth of July Dining Specials in Connecticut

Start the Independence Day celebrations early - or extend them through the weekend - with these special restaurant deals.

Plan B Burger Bar, 1000 West Columbus Avenue, Springfield, hosts a "backyard barbecue" with a view of the Springfield fireworks July 4. The patio event  is $40 per person, including one beer and all-you-can-eat burgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, potato salad and watermelon. Children under 12 are $20. 116 Crown, 116 Crown Street, New Haven, presents a holiday version of its "Five6Seven" happy hour Wednesday, July 3. The event will be extended until 8 p.m., with special cocktails and free apple zeppole for dessert. 203-777-3116,

Barley Vine, 182 Main Street, Bristol, hosts a 4th of July "BrewBQ" on its patio July 3 and 4 at 3 p.m. The buffet, $18 a person, includes grilled chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers with pasta salad, potato salad, green salad, grilled vegetables and housemade ice cream sandwiches - chocolate chip bacon cookies stuffed with vanilla mascarpone ice cream. Max's Oyster Bar, 964 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford and Max Fish, 110 Glastonbury Blvd., Glastonbury, offer lobster specials through July 7. For $25.95, get your choice of twin lobsters with French fries and cole slaw or a New England lobster boil with mussels, steamers, corn, potatoes and sausage. Dish Bar & Grill, 900 Main Street, Hartford, offers a prix-fixe "cookout" special July 5 through July 8, for $20.13. The menu includes sweet tea fried chicken with local honey, slow-cooked baby back ribs, Texas-style salt and pepper short ribs, watermelon, Yukon Gold potato salad, creamy blue cheese cole slaw, corn on the cob with Parmesan, chile and lime and Belltown Orchards strawberry shortcake. Mill Restaurant Group's locations, including The Mill on the River in South Windsor, Abigail's in Simsbury and Market Grille in Manchester, offer three-course lobster bake specials (varied by restaurant.) Market Grille also offers 2-for-1 raw bar Thursday through Sunday.

Market Grille, 110 Buckland Hills Drive, Manchester, also hosts a Fireworks Party July 6 at 8 p.m., with views of the Hartford and Manchester fireworks.
