This week at theme parks: Miranda Cosgrove sings at Universal, Police tribute band at Epcot

There are a few hot tickets this week at Orlando's theme parks and attractions.

+ Universal Studios wraps up its Summer Concert Series on Saturday with singer/actress Miranda Cosgrove. "It's going to be the first tour date of my little summer tour I'm doing," she said last week during opening ceremonies for the park's Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. (She gave voice to Margo, the oldest sister in the new attraction and the film "Despicable Me.") Cosgrove, known for her starring role in Nickelodeon's"iCarly," said her Universal concert would include covers, new songs and pieces from the new "iCarly" soundtrack. Show time is at 8 p.m. Saturday, and it's included in regular Universal Studios admission.

+ The Sounds Like Summer series, a collect of tribute bands, continues at Epcot with The Police Experience. The group will have three shows daily through Saturday. On Sunday, SoundBound and Company, a tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, takes over.  The concerts are included in regular Epcot admission.

Two continuing features to check out:

+ At the Orange County Regional History Center, a featured exhibition called "Taming Summer in Central Florida" looks at how houses were constructed B.A.C. -- before air-conditioning. Other activities include a contest between the teas: Sweet versus Unsweet.
