"Hope Springs"

Yale School of Drama grad and Salisbury resident Meryl Streep made a film here, the 2012 romantic comedy "Hope Springs" with Tommy Lee Jones. It was shot in Guilford, Norwalk and Stonington. The production, in fall 2011, was all anyone in Stonington could talk about for weeks. "We've all become very silly people, standing on street corners," looking for celebrities, one local said at the time.<br><br>CAPTION:  Tommy Lee Jones (C) is surrounded by crew members as they work on a scene while filming scenes for "Great Hope Springs" in downtown Stonington.
