Actor Brad Pitt was present for a special promotional screening for his new film, "World War Z" at the AMC River East theaters Thursday night.

Brad Pitt made an unannounced appearance Thursday at a Chicago screening of his new zombie flick, "World War Z," according to Red Eye.

With a full house, Pitt walked into the theater to screaming fans, throwing T-shirts and even talking to the crowd before the film began, WGN-TV reported.

"It's the most intense thing you're going to see all summer," he said over screaming fans.

The appearance at AMC River East was part of a campaign that also sent Mr. Angelina Jolie to Atlanta and Philadelphia.

In the movie, which drops June 21, Pitt plays a U.N. employee who travels the world to stop a zombie pandemic that threatens humanity.
