Aden Young stopped by our building for a live video chat to delve into the mysteries surrounding the Sundance Channel's acclaimed new series "Rectify."
Young plays Daniel Holden, who returns to his small Georgia hometown after spending 19 years in prison for the rape and murder of his girlfriend. Daniel's conviction has been vacated due to new DNA evidence, but the community -- and members of his own family -- remain divided over his guilt.
The show's debut season contained six immaculately constructed episodes that focused on the challenges facing Daniel as he tried to reconnect with his old life and any sense of normalcy after being on death row for nearly two decades.
Young spoke about the show's central mystery -- the question of Daniel's innocence -- as well as the weight of playing a character coming into the light of a very changed world after spending so long in solitary confinement. There's also a little hockey talk. (He was born in Canada. What do you expect?)
Pull up a chair, grab some headphones if you have some (the audio is a little on the low side ... sorry) and learn a little more about one of television's best new shows.
