Kathy Griffin can no longer pretend to be on the “D-List,” but she continues to be an outspoken, earthily endearing comic presence. For all her no-holds-barred humor, knocking down the pedestals of Hollywood’s high and mighty, she’s also empowered the downtrodden and misunderstood, earning awards and commendations for her charity work and awareness projects.

However her persona may have changed, she’s still perky and unpredictable and funny. Griffin’s at the Palace Theater, 100 East Main St., Waterbury, at 8 p.m. Friday, March 13. Tickets are $48-$78. Information: palacetheaterct.org.
