Where do you do most of your shopping?
Fashionista Vintage and Variety. It's the best place to buy clothes in the city.
What about shopping for burlesque clothes?
I make a lot of my costumes, and the ones I don't make I buy from places like Fashionista, Etsy and occasionally Ebay.
What kind of costumes?
My costumes run the gamut of a baroque opera singer to a cliche 1970s disco dude. There's no one favorite, they all have different flavors that I love.
How long have you lived in New Haven?
I moved here three years ago. And before that I was living in West Haven, so I've been in the New Haven area for about five years.
Tell us about what you're wearing right now...
This is my cowboy skirt. It's a little lightweight but I'm not acknowledging the cold weather yet. I'm not prepared. A drop in the temperature is no reason to darken your entire wardrobe. Bright clothes are going to make you feel better. I'm wearing a neon tangerine cropped jacket from the 1980s, a Chinese enameled locket with jade beads and my requisite combat boots. And a crinoline, of course.
