Get out and get festive: Spring and summer festivals in Hampton Roads

STOCKLEY GARDENS SPRING ARTS FESTIVAL

When: Saturday-Sunday, May 18-19. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday.

Where: Stockley Gardens, Norfolk, between Redgate Avenue and West Olney Road

Details: All day Saturday and Sunday, about 150 artists exhibit a wide variety of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, photography and others. In addition, there are children's activities, live musical entertainment and food vendors from across the region. It all happens outdoors at Stockley Gardens park in Norfolk's Ghent neighborhood.

VIRGINIA BEER FESTIVAL

When: Saturday-Sunday, May 18-19, 2-6 p.m.

Where: Town Point Park, Norfolk

Details: A full day of beer, friends and fun along the Norfolk waterfront. Folks who attend will sample beers from around the world. More than 125 taps will be featured as well as live music and food. The festival is presented in partnership with the Virginia Arts Festival.

Admission: Tasting tickets are $25 in advance, $30 day of. Admission for non-tasters is $15. To reserve tables, call 757-282-2822 by Monday, May 13.

HAMPTON ROADS BARTENDER'S BALL

When: Sunday, May 19, 7 p.m.

Where: Hampton Roads Convention Center, 1610 Coliseum Drive, Hampton

Details: This year's theme is "Vegas Style — What happens at Bartender's Ball stays at Bartender's Ball 2013." Heavy hors d'oeuvres, open bar and live entertainment by The DeLoreans. The ball started in 1991, took a six-year hiatus and returned in 2011. Over the years, the Hampton Roads Charitable Fund has donated more than $500,000 to many local and national charities.

SENSIBLE SEAFOOD FEST

When: Thursday, May 23, 7-10 p.m.
