Get out and get festive: Spring and summer festivals in Hampton Roads

Details: This third edition of the all-day reggae music festival will include performances by Jahworks, United Souls Band, Session Rockers, Antero, Tonahope, Destined Nation and Machet. Food and art vendors will be offering their wares at this family-friendly festival.

When: Thursday-Sunday, May 16-19. 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday; noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Where: Grounds of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 7220 Granby St., Norfolk.

Details: The annual event includes food and wine, entertainment, arts and crafts, a cooking school, and a drive-through. The festival will be serving Greek salad, fried calamari, shish kabob, moussaka, chicken lathoregano, spanakopita, pastitsio, stuffed grape leaves, and Greek-style French fries. Greek pastries and breads also will be available, including galaktoboureko and loukoumades.

Details: Carnival rides by Amusements of America; concerts by the Wailers, the Romantics and Montgomery Gentry; a barbecue cook-off; and Saturday night fireworks are part of the fun. Food vendors, arts and crafts and children's activities will also be featured.

Details: The event will feature wines from France, Chile, New Zealand, Italy, Australia, Germany, Spain and Argentina. Also returning this year is Chatham Vineyards from Virginia's Eastern Shore with its Steel Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc varieties of King Neptune's Private Reserve label. Gourmet food samplings and other specialty products for sale plus music by Lewis McGehee and Rock Star Parking.
